I thought I'd try to generate my first patch. I started by getting the
grep from CVS using:
cvs -z3 -d:ext:address@hidden:/cvsroot/grep co grep
Which is a copy-paste from the savannah web site. I got the grep
directory
with SOME files. In particular, the following files exist in grep-2.5.1
but no in the cvs:
COPYING
INSTALL
Makefile.in
aclocal.m4
autom4te-2.53.cache
config.guess
config.hin
config.sub
configure
depcomp
install-sh
missing
mkinstalldirs
stamp-h.in
The README file refers to the INSTALL file that doesn't exist. Nor does
configure. I am a bit at a loss .. am I supposed to run some autogen
scripts to first to get the code to compile so that I can test it? Or
is
there another way to access the CVS?
Regards,
TAA
