make check failure, Fedora 7, GCC 4.1.2

Hi. I just did a fresh download of the CVS repository, ran

        ./autogen.sh
        ./configure && make && make check

And got some failures from the check. The results are attached.

Fedora 7, GCC 4.1.2 (a la Redhat).

I an running with LC_ALL=C.
