Details:
On my Fedora 15 box, "grep x ." does not report an error,
even though (as strace shows) it reads "." and the read fails with
errno==EISDIR. It should report an error. I have submitted a proposed patch
for this in
<http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-grep/2011-12/msg00036.html>.
This bug was originally reported by Alan Curry in
<http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=10355#26> (for coreutils).
