Hi Paolo,
Sorry, but like Paul, I do not want to revert to the prior state.
First, it is cleaner to separate the wrappers for obsolescent egrep
and fgrep from grep's internals. In addition, I have a strong bias for
coding only for reasonable portability targets. While I am not
convinced that a system lacking any type of shell constitutes a
reasonable portability target, I am willing to accommodate, if
someone else does the work to prepare a complete patch.
