Groff 1.17.2 can't build from CD

I've encountered a minor bug with groff-1.17.2's build scheme.  On a
VPATH build, it attempts to rewrite the file "src/preproc/refer/label.cc"
in the -source directory-.  If the source directory is on a cdrom, this
causes a "Read-only filesystem" error and halts the build.

The bug can be easily worked around by copying the source directory to
writable media before configuring/making it.  But is very sloppy for a
autoconf application to require that.

Please fix in the next version.
