You are talking about sgrub shlell, aren'T you`
Have you tried your lock with device mapping? WHen grub starts up, it
creates a device mapping file, which contains the mapping e.g.
'(hd0)'->'/dev/hda', '(hd1)'->'/dev/hdb',... Have you tried to add a
mapping for your USB device?
