If you are lucky --- but this is an exception --- an El Torito compliant
BIOS may (this is a side effect and absolutely not mandatory) presents a
_bootable CDROM not selected as a boot device as the "last" additional
drive (e.g. if you have only one disk, you will see a hd1 appears if the
image on the CD is a HD emulation, or a fd1, a second floppy if this is
a floppy image). In this case, however, you have only access to the El
Torito images, and you need some code to access the raw CD (but this is
possible).

In a more general way, you need to dive seriously in the possibility to
add drivers to the bootloader, and you can only try this non trivial
task by considering first the standalone library of the *BSD flavors.
