Sir or Madam,
I don't really have a "bug" to report, but a question that I didn't see
addressed in your text or FAQs.
I'm having trouble getting a dual boot environment to work on my home
computer. I started with attempting a dual partition on one disk, but
learned that XP isn't so conducive to such things, and I heard rumors that a
binary patch was released by MS to fix the problem, but never really wanted
to follow up. Instead, I took what I thought was the easy way out and
purchased another disk.
I'm trying to run Red Hat and XP, one on each disk. XP, for imaginable
reasons, insists on being on my first disk, 0x80. With lilo I can modify my
/etc/lilo.conf file to look like this:
other=/dev/hdb1
label=dos
table=/dev/hdb
map-drive = 0x80
to = 0x81
map-drive = 0x81
to = 0x80
This tricks Windows into thinking it's on the first disk. I can't seem to
find out how to do this with GRUB. Any advice?
