Hello grub fans and devs, two things:
1. GrubConf announcement
2. How to quickly tell if your grub supports splashimage
3. Spiffy splashimages
Note: if you reply please CC to me and Monti
--
1. I'd like to inform you of the existence of GrubConf, a GTK-based grub
configuration utility. It's up on sf, http://grubconf.sourceforge.net
It's been started by Joseph Monti (to whom I've CC'd to).
2. GrubConf will support splashimages but its silly to support or show you
configuration options for it if you do not have support for it in your
version of grub. Monti has asked me if knew of a way to check for this but
I honestly don't. I wrote a script that does some, what I believe are
trivial checks, to see if you "might" have splashimage support:
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/grub-images/checksplash.sh
I'd like to ask you guys if you guys think this check is valid and
effective.
3. If you have spiffy splash images, please send them to me so I can
post them up. Send me a viewable image of it and the xpm.gz file.

Thanks,
Luis R. Rodriguez
