Hi
On a RedHat 9 system, with grub 0.93-4, having a 20gb hdd and intel tx
motherboard grub gives error 18 at boot. I use a floppy to boot it now.
grub-install /dev/hda seems to be ok:
Installation finished. No error reported.
This is the contents of the device map /boot/grub/device.map.
Check if this is correct or not. If any of the lines is incorrect,
fix it and re-run the script `grub-install'.
# this device map was generated by anaconda
(fd0) /dev/fd0
(hd0) /dev/hda
The / partition has 5gb. LBA is enabled in BIOS.
I have found another mail with the same problem, no answer.
http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-grub/2003-05/msg00041.html
Any suggestions to make this work appreciated.
Thank you,
