Could you use latest official trunk when reporting bug? I doubt mandriva
modified their version but they are probably lagging behind

I could reproduce this. Could you supply a small images for qemu from
latest trunk which demonstrate the issue

reiserfs is supported by GRUB and is autoloaded when needed
Could you also try with debug=all ?
