Ah, I forgot gsl version is 1.6.
Meanwhile I tried to open the files with gs version 7.05.3 and it
works. If one converts the files via eps2eps 7.05.3 the files become
processable by both gs versions, but the bounding box is wrong. If one
corrects this by hand (cut and paste from the old file), everything runs
fine plus the filesize shrinks a lot.
