makeinfo (GNU texinfo) 4.0
It's interesting that an older version of makeinfo is stricter (and
correctly so) on the @itemize point.
I wonder if there is some way of getting @ifnottex to work with
version 1.68? Perhaps those with this version could experiment a
little. I will look for clues in the makeinfo archives.
