Is there a Password option for GZIP?

Not that I know of, and I'd be very surprised if there is, since encryption and compression are different operations. (And you don't want to use pkzip encryption, it's woefully insecure.)

I need to compress and then pw
protect file to send in an email and then have the recipients use Winzip
or something on windows to open it.

WinZip is unlikely to handle any sort of ecryption (except the aforementioned insecure pkzip encryption) on its own.

Maybe you could look at using gpg for encryption?

Such legal disclaimers are unenforceable/meaningless on public lists and are even against policy on some lists. Also, some people will refuse to reply on principle. (They also waste bandwidth.) Please either remove this text or get a better e-mail account.

Somewhere, there is a .sig so funny that reading it will cause an aneurysm. I haven't found it yet, but I think I met a few of the runners-up.
