        Debian is rather good at supporting builds in `chroot'ed
        environments.  Thus, it isn't even necessary to install Automake
        1.10 on the host system -- one could be installed on the build
        system precisely for the one build (if one uses `pbuild', at
        least; the same for `buildd', IIUC.)

        ... Perhaps, the Debian source package for GNU Mach lacks a
        (versioned) Build-Dependency on Automake 1.10?
