Ok.
I now have a Mercurial repo with all the hurdextra translators in subfolders
lying around here. If someone creates a git repo I can clone, I can push the
changesets into it.
Also I have a Mercurial repo with each translator as subrepo (that was the
easier version), but I don’t know if it would be useful to server them from a
non-savannah site (where multi-repos are very easy to do).
