Hello,

The option "-T" tells indent that its argument is a typename so that it can be interpreted properly. This allows the user to specify that user-defined types are the equivalent of "int" or "char" for the purposes of program parsing.

This is documented clearly in the man page and in the info file in the indent distribution. If after reading the documentation, you can suggest better descriptions of the functionality, I'm sure they would be welcome.

The main purpose of "-T" is not the spacing of an asterisk within parameter declarations. Your other suggestion of a separate option is a possibility, but perhaps of limited utility.

Regards,
Dan

Package: indent
Version: 2.2.9-5
Severity: minor

There is nothing in the documentation about results of option -T.
I have found only one thing, that happens using it: in function
declarations the '*' will be placed as "function(type *variable)"
instead of "function(type * variable)". And this could be done
automatically, without requiring this option ... I think I will
write a feature request about this.

Thanks,
                                         Miklos Danko, M.D.
