Hi.
In the meantime i looked deeper and saw that someone is already messing
around with LC_ALL and LANG. Buuuut on my machine i have the settings:
LANG=de
LC_MESSAGES=de
LC_TIME=de
LC_NUMERIC=C
LC_CTYPE=de
LC_MONETARY=de
LC_COLLATE=C
No LC_ALL, because i need this LC_NUMERIC and LC_COLLATE. There is a
check for LC_ALL and LANG. On my machine LC_ALL is not set, LANG is set.
So LANG is set to C and that's it. But LC_MESSAGES takes precedence over
LANG...
So, is it my fault, or is the libtool solution not "perfect" ? :-)
I think, what i do is a mess, but it's "legal".
"LC_ALL=C .../file libbla.so" solves the problem with "file", but maybe
there are more places that can fail.
