I have now posted a v4 to the mailing list.  I guess that you will
receive it soon.  It is actually a patch against gnulib, since that is
where most of libunistring comes from.

I can write a documentation patch for the manual if you like the code.

I have active copyright assignments for gnulib and libunistring, and
commit rights for gnulib.
