No. I don't have time right now to build from CVS so I must wait until Pedro or Feri produce Debian packages. Pedro's latest is 2.3.21.
One of the major changes from 2.3.21 was the renaming of bookpaper -> paper and paper -> layout!
I mentioned that I seen the comments about the change.Really my major concern is that whatever generates the PDF's doesn't use the same paper size as the dvi and ps.
