XCode 2, which comes for free on (and requires) Mac OS 10.4, is a decent text editor. So it would be nice with a LilyPond version for XCode 2. A UNIX installation would be just fine.I don't understand. You can use any text editor you like; just save the fileand run lilypond on it. Lilypond doesn't know what text editor you used to create the file.
The MAc OS X Application has its own editor, and evidently expects one to open the file from within the program, and then compile it. So it is not very convenient if one is working in another editor, especially if the same file is open at the same time in both that editor and the LilyPond editor.
I haven't checked how to use LilyPond and XCode together yet, what works well. I just strikes me as a good idea.
