This line (measure 11 of the piece I'm working on) works just fine if I compile
it without dynamics:
<d fis>16 <d fis> <d fis>8 <cis e>16 <cis e> <cis e>8 | <b d>16 e <a, c> e' <b
d>8 r |
But if I add a diminuendo,
<d fis>16 <d fis> <d fis>8 <cis e>16\> <cis e> <cis e>8\! | <b d>16 e <a, c> e'
<b d>8 r |
I get this in the terminal:

I have other crescendos and diminuendos in the piece.
