http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=12942.13.36 was compiled on a fresh ubuntu 10.04 installation, so that font is probably not installed.
My first thought was that, given issue 934, files like utf-8.ly would be broken. But the regtest comparison looks decent... did the recent ghostscript bump accidentally fix this?
I suggest that for now, I'll just avoid installing any extra fonts, and we can come back to this after 2.14 is out. (that said, if you could clarify this and 934 -- or more generally, make any improvements to GUB -- that would be awesome)
