gs fails on OS X

OS X, 10.6.5: lilypond 2.13.41-1

When running gs, I get a crash and an error:

dyld: Library not loaded: ./bin/../sobin/libgs.8.70.dylib
  Referenced from: 
      /Applications/_AudioMusicRelated/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/bin/gs
  Reason: image not found

If in bash I type:

export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=
     /Applications/_AudioMusicRelated/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/lib

before running gs, it works fine.

However, I am unable to find a way to export the variable appropriately so 
that gs is called successfully from LyX 2.0 Beta 1.
