I think I posted a message here quite some time back about the
problems of storing message meta-data as part of the message, and
suggesting that maybe storing message-data in a separate file would be
better (both speed-wise and to avoid corruption with near-full mail
disks).
Unfortunately, I haven't had time to follow the evolution of the
actual code, but still thought I'd mention this once more...
