Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44913 (project mit-scheme):
I think the real problem is that pathname-type is not unspecific too, like
pathname-version. Unix doesn't have either one, numerous customs
notwithstanding. DIRECTORY-READ should really be returning pathnames with
just a name component on Unix, e.g. "my-diary.txt.gpg~". That seems VASTLY
less troublesome than guessing. I'll throw in a glob function as a
consolation. :-)
