[bug-myserver] MyServer based web server Stack

For the Attention of Mr. Giuseppe Scrivano and Daniele Perrone.

¡ Good Day!

(Please disregard my previously unfinished sent mail,
by mistakenly pressing the "send" button")

I Think that myServer is in the path to be great alternative to the LAMP/WAMP web application server stack.

Actually, www.janus-software.com/  has a stack made up of:

Windows/MyServer/Firebird DBMS/PHP (WiMFiP ?) at the following page:

http://www.janus-software.com/phpserver.html

I have downloaded, installed, tested, and I found it unable of serving PHP pages.

I totally endorse the idea of Janus Software that using MyServer and Firebird as components of web stack will make it simpler to use that the WAMP stack.

I digged in the WiMFiP Stack to try to figure out and fix any detail that it may arose,
and I sent to Mr.Paul Ruizendaal, Managing Director of Janus Software, my report of findings (see embedded mail sent to him below and attached zipped screenshoots)
with no reply from him after a second inquiry.

So, I decided to get in contact with the MyServer Development Team to know if there is an interest in developing this kind of stack as a preconfigured self-install package.
I reviewed your bug-myserver Archives mails (is where I have got your names) and found that Mr. Perrone is engaged in the quest of making Python an option of scripting language for MyServer, which is great, because is very well structured and supported language.

Actually, the DBMS servers could be any of the most popular free databases, with large support:
Ingres, PostGres, or Firebird. SQLite has the popularity and support but a wrap has to be done to make it to behave as a server(like Real Basic did, i.e.).

The self installing STACK package is what made the LAMP/WAMP so popular

So, by the same token, maybe teaming up with Firebird(and/or any previously mentioned DBMS) and Python/PHP Organizations, could make this packages come alive.

My interest is to develop end user applications on top of this kind of stacks.

Please send a blind copy to this email address when replying to me in your
bug-myserver Archives.

Ciao Signori (I am guessing that all of you as well as i have italian surnames)

Note: I know that this is free software and as such it is not entitled to receive
support, but I guess that if it is uploaded is with the intention of reaching
widespread utilization. This will only happen when any this kind of software
overcomes any kind of disruptive situation.

Good Morning!!!

I like very much the idea of using a solution stack made of

Windows-MyServer-Firebird-PHP.

As it is said somewhere in your website, this setup is more easily manageable than
the typical WAMP application stack.

I made the installation, I have digged through out all the folders, the logs of
MyServer (which by the way, was consistently generating a 404 message
expecting an inexisting  favicon.ico in the web folder), the MIME definitions,
particularly of php files ( C:\phpserver-0.9\php\php.exe -c C:\phpserver-0.9\php\php.ini)
which seems to be okay and there is no way that the current software setup
could open a php file without showing the attached error.

I don't believe that the diffetrent versions shown by MyServer are the cause of the problem.
(When displaying some web pages indicates version 0.8.1 but the installation
folder is marked as  version 0.9)

Guessing around, I  have included three screenshots of what happens when I ask MyServer to process the hello.php page included with Myserver:

1) Message (phase 1) received when requested hello.php---100923-1.JPG

This screenshot is where the hello.php is requested. Message is shown,
pointer changes to work in progress for a while when finally shows the next
screenshot, that is, nothing, maintaining the error(actually, a warning) message:
"PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library './ext/php_firebird.dll' - Module can not be found'

2) Message (phase 2) received when requested hello.php---100923-1.JPG
(shows what indicated above)

3) Error on PHP Startup 100923.PNG
This is a composed view showing the folder containing the requested file by the error
and the error itself.

Comparing pathfiles, it is shown than one has backslashes
while the other has forward slashes...  May this be the problem?

Best Regards

LP
