I looked at it again briefly, and it appears that your patch format
won't trigger the bug in 2.5.4, so you should be safe.
However, you might want to remove the trailing spaces from the Prereq:
lines, as they run afoul of a minor bug (a false warning diagnostic)
in Patch test releases 2.5.6 through 2.5.8. This bug should be fixed
in the next test release of GNU patch whenever it comes out, and
anyway the output of the patch process is correct, so it's not an
urgent problem.
