[bug-obsolete-packages] sort.exe writing tmp files to C:

[dlheim]

I am running V2.1 of sort.exe - Unix Utilities.
On large files, sort.exe is writing
a number of temporary files to the C: drive root.
This is unacceptable in today's environment.

I have tried the -T and --temporary_directory
options with no luck.
Is there a newer version of sort.exe?
