Hi!
I am involved in a project that is developing an aid tool for people with
reading disabilities.
We have developed our own hardware and are running linux 2.6.10 on an arm
processor.
We have tried ocrad and are very impressed with its performance also on the
target platform. We see that it lacks support for Norwegian/Danish
characters and we would like to se support for this in a future version of
ocrad (ASAP in fact).
I looked up the Unicode values for the 6 characters; they are also part of ISO
8859-1
Unicode characters for Norwegian/Danish:
00C6 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER AE (ash) *
= LATIN CAPITAL LIGATURE AE
00D8 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER O WITH STROKE
= LATIN CAPITAL LETTER O SLASH
x (empty set - 2205)
00C5 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER A WITH RING ABOVE
x (angstrom sign - 212B)
: 0041 030A
00E6 LATIN SMALL LETTER AE (ash) *
= LATIN SMALL LIGATURE AE
= ash (from Old English æsc)
* Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Faroese, Old English, French, IPA
x (latin small ligature oe - 0153)
x (cyrillic small ligature a ie - 04D5)
00F8 LATIN SMALL LETTER O WITH STROKE
= LATIN SMALL LETTER O SLASH
* Danish, Norwegian, Faroese, IPA
00E5 LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH RING ABOVE
* Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Walloon
: 0061 030A
We will also provide an image of the letters I question.
