Re: GNU Parted compatible with my compaq raid setup?

I have read the examples.  I have a question.  If my / partition has a total
of 1 gig and I am only using 250 megs, is it then safe to shrink it to say
300 ?  Is there a chance that data will get lost, or is this a safe
procedure?
