Package: parted
Version: 1.4.24-4
Severity: minor
Partitioning on a powerpc does not involve a choice of partition type
between primary, extended, or logical. However parted won't work
unless 'primary' is inserted as PART-TYPE. This parameter should be
optional for powerpc's, or else a new value such as 'powerpc' should
be allowed.
In addition, there is odd behavior when 'logical' or 'extended' are
used. For 'logical', parted responds with the error 'mac disk labels
do not support extended partitions'. Notice the mismatch between
'logical' and 'extended'. If 'extended' is used, a help message on the
syntax of the command is issued. This is also unhelpful, since valid
syntax has actually been used.
