Downloaded and compiled with no problems. Passed all tests. My
situation:
40G HD. Had 3G system partition, 5G home partition and a swap partition.
I wanted to expand the home partition to about half the disk. I deleted
the swap partition (3) and resized the home partition without error. I
then re-created the swap at the end. Running parted again shows it was
successful. All applications that report disk size report it was not.
The disk size has not changed. Ran fsck -fv /dev/hda and had no errors.
All applications run as normal. fsck reports no change in disk size.
Output of parted:
address@hidden abc]# /sbin/parted /dev/hda print
Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-38166.679 megabytes
Disk label type: msdos
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0.031 2996.499 primary ext3 boot
2 2996.499 20802.919 primary ext3
3 20802.920 20999.025 primary linux-swap
Running parted interactively yields:
address@hidden abc]# /sbin/parted
GNU Parted 1.4.24

Using /dev/hda
Information: The operating system thinks the geometry on /dev/hda is
4865/255/63. Therefore, cylinder 1024 ends at 8032.499M.
(parted) quit
confirming my system is confused but not giving me a clue as to how to
fix it.
