dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/hdb
When I was trying to blank it was even slower. I will try bs=10M...

Remember it was:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 19G 13G 4.7G 74% /
/dev/hda3 65G 8.9G 53G 15% /home
Now it is:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 19G 4.1G 14G 24% /
/dev/hda3 92G 15G 73G 17% /home
ext2resize is a good tool. :)
