Is there hope for ReiserFS support in libparted anytime soon?

It is there for few years already. You need to install progsreiserfs first (ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/libreiserfs/progsreiserfs-0.3.0.5.tar.gz) and then build parted with reiserfs support turned on.
But it seems that progsreiserfs is completely unmaintained or something, at

Yury is the maintainer (previous poster) and he released the above version
"recently" (in April) that supposed to fix problems.

least it has been kicked out of debian/sarge recently because of bugginess,
which forced me to remove reiserfs support in the compiled version of parted
in debian sarge.

In the past there were several corruption problems posted all over the net but only one here (not from debian) but I've never seen any usable
bug reports (exact error messages, versions used, etc).

I understand Yury that he can't debug things if nobody tells him. E.g.
what if all users run it on a mounted partition and they ignored the
parted warning (fixed, it can't be ignored anymore) or it was used on
devfs but parted couldn't detect the mount state? There were such fixes in parted recently, AFAIR, but Debian still uses an old parted.

Exactly! That 0.3.0.5 version fixes some bugs, also it adds small tree check, which should be used before resizing, as we suspected, that when corruption happens during resize, reiserfs is in bad state (like some nodes are corrupted and at least has invalid level field). Also patch to parted list to use that check function was sent (no anwer so far).

I have also newer version 0.3.0.6. It fixes some not critical bugs in resize bitmap stuff, in regression test and has some cleanups. Will put it somewhere in net soon.

I was not going to discuss this anymore, as I tired to say the same. Also I have next to nothing good to say :) But I will try. Guys, I'm all for it. Unfortunatelly I have not much of time for active development (like add support for moving start of partition), but I have it enough for fixing the bugs. If somebody has some usefull report, just let me know and I will fix the bug.

Or if anyone thinks, that he can manage things better, go ahead :) I will agree to pass maintainership and will provide as much of help as I can :)

Thanks.
