Hi,
I've begun working on Ambush- the SNMP trap listener. If anyone can
think of a better name let me know. jbailey had suggested the place
submarines send distress signals- subpac. Doesn't have quite the same
ring to it as Ambush. =)
Anyway, so far I have little to speak of. Basic build environment is
in place and the beginnings of a server. I'm working in C++. I want
to cook up a simple server that will listen for UDP packets and print
something to the screen when it receives said packets. The key at
this point is to figure out how I can write a server that is testable;
I'm using CppUnit at present and think I've figured out how I'd like
to organise the code such that it's testable.
I haven't committed any of my code to CVS mostly 'cause it doesn't do
anything useful and also because I don't think I have access to the
repository. jbailey- can you make me a "Developer" on savannah?
I have lots of questions that I think may simply answer themselves or
be determined by whomever does the most coding. =) Things like coding
style, which libraries we should depend on and so on. Not a big deal
right now.
Anyway, will keep everyone updated as to my progress. I hope to have
something basic that works and is testable within the next couple of
weeks.
Thanks,
Jamu.
