Hello Jose,After more than a year I am finally getting back to rec-mode. I previously had it set up with Cygwin on a windows vista machine
I now have it set up on two machines - one an old e-machines running Jessie, emacs 24.4.1, rec-mode.el copyright 2009-2014; the other is a dual boot with LinuxMint, 17.1 Mate, 64 bit, emacs 24.3.1; the rec-mode.el copyright 2009, 2010, 2011
With the LinuxMint rec-mode.el version, in my .emacs file I had to add (setq rec-open-mode 'edit) to my rec-mode setup; otherwise only navigation is allowed, i.e. no editing a .rec file.
In both rec-mode.el versions the default defcustom rec-open-mode is 'navigation.
I have searched the bug and help lists and on Savannah I checked the release notes for 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7. Did some code change between 2011 and 2014? Is this a bug? Or should I look to my .emacs files, which, as far as I can tell, are the same (except for a couple of load-paths)
Thanks again for rec-mode Charlie Millar
