Details:

GNU Source Installer would benefit from an alternative implementation of a
file browser dialog, that should merge

tk_getOpenFile and tk_chooseDirectory functionality,

where the user is able to choose both a file or a directory as he pleases (and
the directories still are matched by the different patterns), and where the
-mustexist option is supported.
