   Asides from what Alfred said, it'd be nice if it supported -s.

I don't see how that is useful, you can pipe the output to head.  And
if any such options are added, they should use the same option name as
in other GNU programs (-c/--bytes in this case).  One could have -s as
a hidden/deprected option though.
