I entered the command "tar -vwzx Web-FTP-2.1.2.tar.gz" and the program
went into a permanent wait state, allowing me to type in stuff which it
wasn't listening for. I had to give it a ^C to get out of it. I
probably am trying to do something silly, as I am a novice, but surely
tar should tell me what I did wrong rather than going to sleep!
