[Bug-tar] Problem when creating a tar archive with over 1, 500 folders in one directory |

Good
morning,
I currently use tar 1.13.25 to perform backups of my
servers on a regular basis. I have noticed an issue when trying to backup
a hare on a Windows 2003 server. The servers share is called "Data".
In the data share there are many files and folders. One folder (called
SD3) has over about 1,500 sub-folders in it, and each folder holds images for my
company. (We made this structure to organize the images for each of our
customers).
What I have noticed is that when doing the backup, tar
will backup all the folders, before and after the SD3 folder, but completely
skips the SD3 folder and all its sub-folders.
I don't believe it is a size limit issue, since I have
another tar archive that is over 27 GB in size that works each day. I have
tried creating a new folder to replace the SD3 folder, no luck. I have
also tried to share out the SD3 folder it's self, still no luck. I really
need to fix this issue soon so I make sure all the data is getting backed
up. The read me file for tar 1.14 has no indication if this issue has been
fixed. I am not sure what else to do.
Thank you for your
help,
Michael
Vieau
