[Bug-tar] How exclude empty dirs?

Hi.

I read the entire manual and didn't figure how can I remove empty dirs from 
my tape backup.

The scenario:

This is a daily backup and I want just put modified files.

Most part of time the tar just put dirs on my tape so I'm loosing space and 
most important: time.

I know that I can remove dirs from tar, but as far I understand, it's remove 
all dirs, and I don't want it.
