Is this because you really need tar 1.15.1 to run on SunOS 4.1.4,
or simply because you're trying to help tar to become more portable?
If the former, then I'd be interested to know the underlying application.
If the latter, then it's probably not worth your time and aggravation,
assuming nobody really needs the result.
