I think it should not report anything, but it could be an option to show some
progress as it works. You could allways turn on verbose with --verbose.

I've already submitted a bug to debian about unwanted output when tar is not
given any --verbose and --newer and --newer-mtime is used. Unwanted output is
annoing when tar is used in backupscripts, and the output will give unwanted
information in ie. an email from the script.
