[Bug-tar] Tar implementation in Tascam DM-3200 Digital Mixing console: GNU tar errors on extract? |

Greetings,
I've no idea whether this falls under the scope of this list, or whether
anyone can offer any help/suggestions.
Recently, I purchased a Tascam DM-3200 digital mixing console, and, having
something of a sight problem that makes it difficult to access many of the
on-screen controls, was Rather pleased to discover that the project file
format, although using a TPI (Tascam Project Image) extension, was in fact
some kind of ustar archive variant. Unfortunately, GNU tar seems
decidedly unhappy regarding the extraction of the last entry in some
directories. Whether this is a GNU tar bug, or something strange in
Tascam's implementation (far more likely I should imagine), I'm uncertain,
not being familiar enough with the archive particulars to discern exactly
what's going on. However, I've included the simplest example I could
generate here (assuming the list accepts attachments) in the hope that
someone can tell me what the problem might be, and (if possible) advise me
as to how I can generate identical archives to enable me to edit
parameters external to the DM-3200 for reload as Project files.
Many thanks for any help.
Regards,
Craig
