[Bug-tar] still problems updating archives

Hello,

a few years ago, I reported a bug against tar [1]. This problem does not
appear any more (tar 1.20 in Debian lenny). But when using absolute paths:

address@hidden:~/tmp$ tar uf  test.tar /home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/
tar: Entferne führende »/« von Elementnamen
address@hidden:~/tmp$ tar tf test.tar
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/datei
address@hidden:~/tmp$ tar uf  test.tar /home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/
tar: Entferne führende »/« von Elementnamen
address@hidden:~/tmp$ tar tf test.tar
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/datei
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/
home/mazur/tmp/tar-bug/test1/datei

the problem is still present.
