Greetings;
Something changed in the 3.13.* kernels, which caused tar-1.22 to hang,
using 100% of a core, while doing an estimate run for amanda.
So I pulled yur tarball of 1.27 and installed it. It passed all the
correct make check stuff.
But since reconfiguring amanda, rebuilding and reinstalling it because tar
was now in /usr/local/bin, I am getting STRANGE reports in the email amanda
sends me.
STRANGE DUMP DETAILS:
/-- coyote /lib lev 0 STRANGE
sendbackup: info BACKUP=APPLICATION
sendbackup: info APPLICATION=amgtar
sendbackup: info RECOVER_CMD=/bin/gzip -dc
|/usr/local/libexec/amanda/application/amgtar restore [./file-to-restore]+
sendbackup: info COMPRESS_SUFFIX=.gz

sendbackup: size 1944250
sendbackup: end

/-- coyote /var lev 1 STRANGE

sendbackup: info APPLICATION=amgtar
sendbackup: info RECOVER_CMD=/usr/local/libexec/amanda/application/amgtar
restore [./file-to-restore]+
sendbackup: info end
? /usr/local/bin/tar: ./lock: directory is on a different filesystem; not

? /usr/local/bin/tar: ./run: directory is on a different filesystem; not

? /usr/local/bin/tar: ./lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs: directory is on a different
filesystem; not dumped

sendbackup: size 349460
sendbackup: end

The 4 items are NOT links to a different filesystem, and are just normal
subdirs at least as far as an ls -laR listing is reporting.
Is there some new option that amanda needs to pass to this new tar-1.27 to
make it behave as the old v-1.22 one?
Cheers, Gene
