Hello,

This is to announce the release of GNU tar version 1.32. Please see below
for a list of changes in this release.

Here are the compressed sources:
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.gz (4.1MB)
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.bz2 (2.9MB)
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.xz (2.1MB)

Here are the GPG detached signatures[*]:
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.gz.sig
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.bz2.sig
  https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.32.tar.xz.sig

Use a mirror for higher download bandwidth:
  https://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html

Here are the MD5 and SHA1 checksums:

c8b1f4f1759ec8d5fccec20df5849431 tar-1.32.tar.gz
17917356fff5cb4bd3cd5a6c3e727b05 tar-1.32.tar.bz2
83e38700a80a26e30b2df054e69956e5 tar-1.32.tar.xz
2d6a408071b42dc9f278f186c1a51639986a9ce2 tar-1.32.tar.gz
d0b0259689062d7700480f74c547f62f18e7412d tar-1.32.tar.bz2
162e00af4702565119c05465e8b6f21c75092794 tar-1.32.tar.xz

[*] Use a .sig file to verify that the corresponding file (without the
.sig suffix) is intact. First, be sure to download both the .sig file
and the corresponding tarball. Then, run a command like this:

  gpg --verify tar-1.32.tar.gz.sig

If that command fails because you don't have the required public key,
then run this command to import it:

  gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 3602B07F55D0C732

and rerun the 'gpg --verify' command.

Noteworthy changes in this release:

* Fix the use of --checkpoint without explicit --checkpoint-action

* Fix extraction with the -U option

See http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-tar/2019-01/msg00015.html,
for details

* Fix iconv usage on BSD-based systems

* Fix possible NULL dereference (savannah bug #55369)

* Improve the testsuite

Regards,
Sergey
