Hi Jeff,
If this patch allows Wget to better retrieve files from the internet, I
don't see why it would be unwanted slop. Sure, such patches are always
welcome!
However, it would be excellent if you could:
1. Give an example of a real website doing this.
2. Write a test case demonstrating how your patch fixes something that was
earlier broken.
I can help you with the test case if required.
