Hi Henrik Sandklef,

I’ve been experimenting with Xnee and cnee to record and replay X events.  I’ve been able to get thing to work on a platform that isn’t using XI extension.  When I record I get the following info in the recording file:

0,6,1177,220,0,0,0,3346637

0,4,0,0,1,0,0,3346638

0,6,1178,218,0,0,0,3346781

0,6,1178,218,0,0,0,3346917

0,6,1178,219,0,0,0,3346985

0,6,1178,219,0,0,0,3346986

0,5,0,0,1,0,0,3346986

0,6,1151,284,0,0,0,3352008

0,4,0,0,1,0,0,3352008

0,6,1151,283,0,0,0,3352154

From reading some of the email threads on the mailing list these look like core X events (given the leading 0, which I think is the device id).  I can get the replay to work but only if I use the –force-core-replay option.  If I don’t use that option cnee exits immediately with the following output:

XI2 not supported

Failed finding X Input extension devices

Workaround: Creating context on data display instead of control

So on this X computer I can replay but I have to use –force-core-replay.

On a different computer/platform which looks like it is using XI given that the devices are specified, I get the following while recording:

7,6,152,548,0,0,0,83022913,6,'TOUCHSCREEN'

0,4,0,0,1,0,0,83022913

7,6,124,588,0,0,0,83023074,6,'TOUCHSCREEN'

0,14,0,0,0,0,0,83023249

7,6,124,587,0,0,0,83025082,6,'TOUCHSCREEN'

0,4,0,0,1,0,0,83025082

7,4,0,0,1,0,0,83025082,130,address@hidden

0,28,0,0,0,0,0,83025088

0,28,0,0,0,0,0,83025088

0,14,0,0,0,0,0,83025139

0,14,0,0,0,0,0,83025557

The leading 7 seems to be an XI device of sorts.  I can record the information, but when I go to replay the file I get the following messages:

The replay doesn’t do anything.  If I use the –force-core-replay the cursor moves on the screen but none of the button presses occur.

Is this a bug, or am I not doing something right?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
